Rochdale Borough Council is part of Foster for Greater Manchester, a collaborative partnership between all 10 Greater Manchester local authorities. We support new and existing foster carers to provide safe and loving homes for children and young people.
As a not-for-profit organisation, our money is kept locally to support foster carers and children and young people living in our borough. This includes Rochdale, Middleton, Heywood and areas of the Pennines including Milnrow and Littleborough.
Fostering is a professional role with responsibilities. Foster carers receive a regular tax-free financial allowance plus additional payments and benefits for each child in their care. The amount received depends on your experience as a foster carer, the type of fostering and the age of the child.
Our foster carers make an incredible difference and we value the amazing love, support and commitment they give to local children and young people to help them thrive, fulfil their dreams and achieve their potential – and we’d love for you to be a part of this amazing journey too.
As a foster carer in Rochdale, you’ll be supported by your supervising social worker, education and health professionals and our newly developed fostering training and support hub. You will also have access to a comprehensive training programme and CAMHS.
By fostering with us, you’re helping to support local children and young people and allowing families to stay close to where they’re from. This not only makes it easier for you, it allows the children in your care to continue at the same school and stay connected with close family and friends.
We have different arrangements to accommodate your lifestyle including short-term respite, short and long-term fostering and supported lodgings. So if you have the determination to make a positive impact in a young life, please contact us.
